True, but the lies in whether or not you miss. If you do and hit a bystander instead, you’re in a world of trouble.

Maybe not, but it’s certainly wise to make sure one has a clear shot before making the call to take it.

You are correct, sir. You don't pull a gun to make someone run away or back down. If you're pulling gun out, things have gone well past that. It's DO or DIE time. For you lurkers and whatnot, I am not trying to be overly dramatic, but the only time you point a gun at another person is when you feel that you are facing imminent and unavoidable danger. You do not wave a gun around to 'frighten someone off.' Ever.

The castle doctrine is different than the CCW rules. If they are inside your castle, your castle has been breached. Lite em up. If you are in your truck and they are outside, the castle doctrine doesn't stand. If you are in the sleeper and they knock a window out and try to get in, the castle is being breached. Lite em up. You do not have to be facing imminent and unavoidable Do or Die situations.

Alabama has this lovely law that extends the castle law to where ever you are. The point is IF you are in my house, my truck then all bets are off.

Everywhere you lay your head to sleep. If you can sleep in it, you are covered. Cars, trucks, motels, travel trailer,...etc.

I do the CCW because of the motorcycle. It's not covered by the castle doctrine. I do the EDC blades because the most places I go are airports, military bases, nuke plants. Certain states have open carry laws. Open carry is completely different. Many times you go to stores or places and they will have a picture of a gun at the entrance, saying"NO GUNS ALLOWED. Violators will be prosecuted." If you read the fine print on that sign, that usually refers to open carry only. If they can tell you are carrying, you are not CCW.

Now, most states will have certain laws about bringing in a firearm, open or concealed, into a place where 50% or more of the revenue comes from the sales of alcoholic beverages. A bar. I normally eat at bars because you have to be 21 to enter. I hate going to restaurants and some wimpy fool brings his family in there and their little hellraiser kid. They think its cute wen their kid sits there and screams at 130 decibels. I'd rather deal with the drunks. Most bikers carry CCW. Some biker bars have no problem with you bringing your sidearm in and checking it with the barkeep. Wrap it up in a bandana and have them put it in the safe.

No everyone hits their target in a high stress situation in an enclosed area where you’re going to be disoriented from being temporarily deaf.
