I came in on an H2B 16 years ago. D and D Sexton appealed to the Labor department after advertising locally for drivers -(advertising at a low rate ).

Names are listed, immigration approves list to American embassy - (Ireland I guess in your case?).

You visit embassy, get vetted by American employee, stamp in passport, then off you go.

Now - getting a CDL A here without a valid SSN - or proof of residency - I don’t know any more.

Probably not much help to you, I’m sure a lot has changed.

Bud A. and stacks Thank this.

"Unfounded claims" immediately disagrees with zero foundational knowledge on the topic as you admit. I work for a trucking company with over 500 drivers. I am the only native born American. Half are visa workers. We are being replaced, and if you think this isn't effecting freight prices, then you are willfully ignorant. Fuel doubles in price and the cost of freight drops anywhere from 20-30 percent. These companies are relying on visa workers because it's cheaper. They're having issues hiring because they're greedy with the pay. I have NEVER had an issue finding drivers when I had my own small fleet. I paid well that's why.
