    Rest in peace, driver.

The driver being interviewed who witnessed the crash states that he travels the Kentucky Parkway in order to bypass Nashville traffic. Looking at a map, I don't see where this can happen without ending up on I-24 or I-65.

Concorde, Banker and BrothaTrucka513 Thank this.

Assume heading from Memphis to Louisville or points beyond. Run up 55 to 155, to 69 and then the parkway. Couple of other viable scenarios, but they're all a bunch of extra miles that don't really save you much.

I have used the WK Parkway many times to bypass Nashville and Memphis heading from Louisville to Texas. Take 51 to 155 to 55 from near Dyersburg to 40 near West Memphis. It’s roughly 15 miles further and a fraction of the traffic. Even if it was exactly the same time I would choose that route every time to avoid I-65 from the WK to Nashville, Nashville traffic and Memphis. The WK Pkwy is generally more relaxing, how some of trucking used to be.

That looks like a good route. I'm such a slave to I-40. Thank you.

When I started running the Wk Pkwy in the late 80’s I usually left Louisville at 0230-0400 in the morning. If several other drivers weren’t dispatched at the same time going that way I hated that route because you might not see a half dozen trucks all the way across and it was boring. Back in the day (haven’t eaten there in years) Beaver Dam Ky had a truck stop with excellent food that we stopped at every trip. In the last few years when I got that type run I looked forward to running that way just because the lack of heavy traffic.

12:54 am I-90 just west of Butte mm196 had another wrong way driver in a pickup. I was heading east and he was heading west in the left lane..hauling tail.

Speed limit is 80 mph out there and he was doing every part of it.

Starting to lose count 4th or 5th one I’ve had.

Would have ended badly for both of us but I think I have better odds of surviving.

I went 30 years and never encountered one. Had 3 in the last 8 years with the Jeep on the right side being chased by the Police on the opposite side of the Hwy. The one during the day I couldn’t move to the left because a big truck who wasn’t aware of the jeeps activity was on my left.

Kentucky is the only state that I know of that actually removed tolls when the road was paid for. I remember when it was a toll road. I wasn’t driving, I was riding with my pops. Had to be late 80’s.
