Gotcha...being a private fleet, I didn’t think it would affect them as much as 3PL/spot market

Stores sell less. We shift more towards grocery and cleaning up stores.

Normally no one would be given that 2nd truck, but once it is in the system as loaded it may be dispatched. As a driver to make sure you keep moving it is just something to watch for.

Also if you are doing FDD loads and have a Sam's as the final make sure you are not giving up hours waiting on 2100 to deliver.

FDD? I figured the loads slow, but figured they would just utilize less of the 3rd party carriers during the slowdowns. I drive for a private fleet now and that’s what we do to an extent.

No no no.. fleet drivers are and should be 1st priority! They need their miles and accessorial pay to bring in their $$$... as a dedicated driver from an outside carrier, I totally respect that!

    mxpx148 and truckdriver31 Thank this.

Frozen Dairy Deli (read temp controlled) and yeah we do, but we also shift some over to supporting HVDCs to utilize private fleet

That's what's nice about having no drop and hooks. Don't have to worry or question if someone is in my trailer. Im sure of that 100% of the time

On the first day, they don’t technically tell you, but got the jist from the driving and pre trip mentors that I did well. Not so hot with the backing maneuver...it was a really tight simulated alley dock. I finally got it, but did it like a rookie lol.
