Ms @Rocks and Mr @red70tvhs , both of you were doing nothing but surviving to work. It makes no difference what job you’re doing in whatever industry you’re doing it in, if you only survive to work you live a very miserable existence after a period of time.
I’ve been behind the wheel of a truck for 30 some odd years, I lived like that for about 7 of those years and sounded a lot like the two of you by the time I decided a change needed to be made. I’ve always loved traveling this beautiful country and can’t imagine doing anything different, even now in my early fifties I have no desire to retire anytime soon. I changed the way I was doing, no longer chasing every mile I can get. I still work hard, cause I like to drive, but I found my limit, 3 weeks and my butt is at home and out of the truck. I walk away from it completely, even being an owner operator I do what people say can’t be done, I pay someone else to do the work so I can go do whatever I want to.
Trucking is not for everyone, but anytime you are just chasing the dollar as hard as you can in any industry you will burn out. Good luck to the two of you finding your own path.
Help me survive another year OTR

Get into Linehaul/LTL. Home every day, two days off in a row, full benefits, $90K+ salary or higher depending on the company. Paid vacation, no looking for parking, paid personal days off, 401K and many more perks.
OTR is ###.Speedy356, Rocks, tarmadilo and 1 other person Thank this. -
LTL or OTR? It depends...
LTL is more stressful than OTR IMO and it requires more physical work than the other.... driving in the city and traffic all day (or driving all night), bumping many docks a day (or night), touching loads and doing drop and hooks... it might be good exercise though, better than siting all day driving or waiting at a customer.
No looking for parking is the good thing about LTL... -
You are definitely going thru burn out. Since taking extended time off did not work. Your only solution is either take who and what you miss with you. Or go home quit find a regular job.
After 4-6 month the luster that ild checka doesnt come back. Then you can hang iy up forever. Thats what i had to do. Once you get used to big checks, they dont mean shiy anymore. Until you stop getting them for an extended amouny of time -

Hey bud. Wanted to bring this thread back up and see how you're doing after all this time. I see the last post was made in 2021. -
Not entirely sure I believe this guy.
But if it's true if you're running 4,000 mi a week with only one day off and then another 4,000 mi that's why you're miserable. You're doing it to yourself and of course they give you everything you want if you drive that ridiculous amount of miles a week.
