    Velox Coffee Break.

    Seen good reviews.

Bottom line is that if you don’t pay ground rent (as with RV), expect problems to grow over time.

Showering at the health club, using a Mr Buddy heater, etc, will eventually lead to problems you don’t EVER want.

Plenty of broke truck drivers get by till the money issues settle by “living” in the truck. Having truck stop amenities goes a long ways.

Consider a CDL. It’s a better street than the one you’re on now. Go anywhere for work. Great back pocket insurance for the future as well (keep up certications/licensure).

This country treats one down & out as invisible. That’s a one-way road. A CDL truck driver has options as to what highway to travel.

    Good luck

If you want to power a home brew pot in your van without a generator, you will have to hook up straight to the battery. Really no way around it.

If I were going to do it and wasn't comfortable running the cables myself, I would probably buy a 3000 watt inverter and take it to a local stereo shop. They install those cables on a daily basis for high power stereo systems. They can also advice you on battery and alternator upgrades if needed.

It’s all physics, or electrical engineering.
    A 12 volt circuit with a 15 amp rating can only handle 12 x 15 = 180 Watts, that’s all she wrote.
To be able to draw 1200 Watts from a 12 volt source you will pull at least 100 / 0.85 = 117.647 amps (most inverters are only about 85 % efficient).
To run that much current you will need wiring about 4 gauge in size, about the size that goes from the battery to the average vans starter. Personally I use welding cable.
Also the alternator would need to be able to supply that many amps.
What type and size of van is this for?
So if you are not willing to wire direct to the battery, then you are stuck using 12 volt appliances.

    Since you don't like a french press,,too much work:rolleyes:
Get yourself a alcohol stove. There are various sizes on market and these create fast heat. 2 cups goes to rolling boil in 2 minutes with mine. Wood alcohol is cheap.
