No he is not driving, an no the tow truck guy can ack on is be off , as long as he doesn't sign for the load he is good
-
I just came down from watertown ny to pa turnpike yesterday and only seen one open and it was only two guys checking hut stickers
-
He can sign for the load if he wants to. He's OOS. An OOS truck can be towed to a repair facility to be fixed. An OOS driver can be towed or have another driver operate the truck for him. You can still be "on duty NOT driving" while OOS...you just cannot DRIVE the truck if you or the truck are OOS.Ezrider_48501 Thanks this.

exactly like pedigreed said, you cannot drive if you don't have hours available, you can however be on duty. get towed get loaded take your 10 and and you are then legal to drive 100% by the book.

OP how'd you make out and how much did it cost? I'm from that area and every NYS thruway exit is subject to inspections. Pay your toll...and now pay some more money to Mr. DOT. I run the thruway 4 days a week and the ratio of trucks getting inspected to cars being pulled over is 10:1. It's a joke but you can get more $$ from a truck than a car to help support nyc
TallJoe and austinmike Thank this. -
How much is OOS ticket?
