It's hot out ! And when parked in temps above 90 I open the side doors on my reefer so all that heat gets blown out the sides instead of being trapped behind the cab and the trailer .
Apu keeps up better and the reefer expels hot air better .
It works !

When it gets hot some units like new carriers like to overheat and throw codes when parked when the unit is stressed anyway ...not much air space between cabs and units these days and throw in an apu back there and you may have issues .

Washing the condensor coil on the reefer helps greatly too,especially if it's a TK

Just be aware of the cost of those doors if it’s windy outside and they break
