Most entertainment drivers make $155.00 per day and are out for weeks at a time. They used to get "overdrives" (more than 500 miles per day and a little more money but they don't anymore. I did some work several years ago for a very famous singer and still haven't been paid......good luck with the entertainment industry....those people will bone your brains out.

I run LTL line. I make about $180-$300/night depending on my miles. I do get home every morning. May not be the most in the industry, but it is enough to keep my lights on.

I think there is more to it then just what you are pulling.. what I mean is.. generally speaking, ftbed tanker pay more... However, the reality is.. there are dry van drivers making more than some flatbed drivers and some taanker drivers...

Also.. when a driver is new they have to earn their dues and work their way up... So, even if the best paying flatbed company was to hire you.. you will still be a new driver and Mr get all the best load all the time..

One more thing to consider... Maybe one would get paid more to haul cattle... But there are aspects of that job that may not be appealing and a driver would be better and happier pulling something else..

From what I have heard FedEx, oil field and flatbed are the best paying.

The highest paid driver wouldn't be bragging over the internet, because DEA would get a subpoena for the forum to release all the personal info on the braggart, and would be looking at his IP address to zero in on his location. The highest paid driver hauls cocaine, bales of marijuana, and any other illicit drug that originates from Mexico and further south. The news of illicit drugs found on OTR trucks are the tip of the ice berg. The ones sold on the streets are the shipments that got pass the DOT scales with the drug sniffing dogs standing on the side as you drive by. Last news I read mentioned the drugs were hidden beneath the metal floor of a reefer trailer, and they called a welder to cut the metal floor open. They should have called a trailer mechanic instead, who would have told them the king pin chassis plate is what's concealing the drugs, which is bolted to the trailer's chassis. capture-plate.jpg Here's a pict of what the kingpin chassis plate looks like. The hole in the middle secures the trailer kingpin.

I also wonder how many drivers actually "know" they're hauling drugs; it wouldn't be too hard to fool a trucker since many legit drug smugglers are pretty ingenious when it comes to concealing the contraband. The driver may never know.

Back on topic, IME, the best paying jobs are either OTR CR England or OTR Werner.
