Yea, that's what I thought. A buddy's dad drives for them and I asked him about a year ago how one gets on with them and he said he's not even sure how they do it now since he's been with them for many years. Went to the website and that's where I learned about the warehouse requirement before being considered and transitioning to a driver position.

Try telling the loader how you want it loaded, if you say nothing, Most will just load it how ever they want,

Stay with USA for one year. Don't leave after 3 to 6 months. Gain experience. That one year will be like your golden ticket.

Am I stupid for loading a reefer: single, single, single, then double the rest of the way back?? Also with a reefer their is some to even full night driving involved.

Depends how many pallets. I would never do 3 singles up front. For an even number say 20, single single all doubles. 21 and very very heavy single single double double single doubles to end. You can even do 4 singles with 20 pallets. 1-1-2-2-1-2-2-2-2-2-1-2. I will also note my reefer is 53' and has a very deep kingpin. Also in Ontario Canada we must have tandems at 41' +/- 1' to center of axle group. I don't see a lot of deep kingpins like mine, so I get odd looks when I have them load it this way.

Why not avoid the hassles of both reefer and dry van, and just go flatbed? Better pay, more respect, and fellow drivers who might actually help you out if you have an issue.

I only pulled refrs for a short year. I saw wait times at receivers from 2 hours to 6 hours. I never got out of a meijer in under 6 hours!

We got 10 cents more per mile to try and compensate...

Many night loads as well. Fresh express gave an hour or two extra from shipper to receiver. They want it there fast! Hence the "Express"!
