Not quite sure what setback axle is too be honest. It’s a peterbilt 567 with a 72 inch sleeper. The weight is about the same as yours full of fuel anyway only weighed three times were all a little different but 27k-29k was the highest have the sheets in the truck but not with me at home. Making more sense on the weight that’s about what I was loaded at this last time from what I was watching.

Setback axle
No setback axle.
If you have a load suspension gauge, start watching it, my T660 gauge and another guy with same type truck as yours loaded to 45 then you go to back hopper, depending on where you load, it’s like shifting your axles.
I start on front hopper, right behind Dolly legs.
Then go to back hopper putting in same spot -
Ah gotcha no set back axle on mine. Makes sense on the gauge I started watching it and need too make some notes on the truck and trailer side too figure it out I think. Gotcha on where and how. Appreciate the information.

This is what I got truck and trailer wise.

How many black tarp stops on the Timpte on driver side, 3 or 5, my Wilson has 5.
I load right behind the second one on front hopper, infront of 4th one on back hopper, my trailer gauge loaded is 62, might be a little different on that one, but not much, can fine tune with time.
That’s not a setback axle, so you may not get a lot of weight on steer.
Might have to move 5th wheel up some.redcrab Thanks this. -
there’s mine, and where I load the back hopper, that’s Brewers Rice.
Load all products same spot, rough rice you may have to add a pile of cup weight is low,Speed_Drums and HopperHauler Thank this. -
I will count when I look at it Monday morning on the tarp not sure but that sounds like a good way too line up also. The gauge is around 60 now I believe on the trailer also. I had too move the 5th wheel up too where it is too keep from hitting the mud flaps on the trailer when turning was set pretty far forward almost all the way when I hooked up first time.Judge Thanks this.

Yeah, I had to move my fifth wheel up, then I turn slow, and get out and watch to make sure it won’t clip coming back around and ripping it offredcrab Thanks this.

Everything already mentioned is good advice. I pretty well only pull a triple axle trailer anymore, with a pusher on the truck.
When I pulled a tandem I usually split it with a little more in the back than the front. I usually only haul in the prairie provinces and ND, so it's really not that often I have to be too perfect on weights. I don't haul anything too exotic either, grains and fertilizer, maybe DDGS and feed pellets once in a while.
@Long FLD and @Judge have good advice for the kind of hauling you're talking about. I don't think you can go wrong taking advice from them.Roberts450, Long FLD, 88 Alpha and 4 others Thank this. -
Thank you for the advice really from everyone involved in this thread.88 Alpha and HopperHauler Thank this.
