Funny thing is looking at available loads for lanes out of SD and DE spot freight the rates are not impressive for a 40:1 load to truck ratio. WTF. 40:1 reefer loads shouldn't be under $2, but I see a lot around $1.50 and some van loads that pay more than reefer. LOL. I hope my direct freight doesn't get swiped by some dingbat that comes in and under bids me at renewal.
Hammerup Thanks this. -
California California California. That's all that needs said. If you can run produce you can make a killing out of Cali.
Hammerup Thanks this. -
Yeah cali produce is a little more, but I don't run cali. Still, I am seeing spot freight from cali averaging $1.60 unless it's a short run. That's not very good!

I'm getting my CDL soon, and I'm REALLY interested in this. Could you help a new guy out please and give me some more info? I'm not even sure of the right questions to ask yet, but some that come to mind are, Where are the best lanes (down to the cities)?, When do they occur and what types of produce?, What are the better rates? Thanks for your help in educating me on this stuff. . .Hammerup Thanks this.
