Ya like double the cost of what you pay for it at the pump.

Yes, but it's more expensive for your engine to de-rate.

How many miles do you drive weekly ? How often engine does driving regen at 800f and parked at 1000F when outside is -20F ? all your miles are loaded? no empty driving? Just want to know how DD ATS works when outside is this much cold.

If I idle 7 to 12 hours, it will call for a regen, which I can do either by parked, or driving off if possible.

9 minutes or 9 miles accomplishes it, either way, but mid 20s below zero is as cold as I've seen with this truck and not much of that.

They aren't all like this, and I have heard of guys not idling never having to do a forced regen with a DD engine.

I idle alot, it's necessary at times. The harness was updated. That helped the check engine lights issue.

I only average about 8,500 miles a month, so a little over 2,000 a week.
    Only about 60% loaded miles.
It only ever requests a parked Regen if I’m idling overnight, even on the coldest days it never requests a parked Regen. But since I have that AutoElevate parameter set, it just does it itself at night
I have a Scangauge (not KR) set to monitor NOx and DPF outlet temperature. In the winter it almost daily does a driving Regen of just under 1,000 degrees for a very short duration, definitely under three minutes.
Once a week and sometimes twice it will do a longer, lower temperature Regen of just under 800 degrees for 2-1/2 hours while running down the road, if I happen to stop , it will resume that one when I get going again.
Then about once a month it will do a hot Regen while driving for about 20 minutes gradually getting hotter, peaking out at 1,120 degrees.
In the summer it never does the hot one, I might see the short under 1,000 Regen once in three weeks. The long one never in the summer.
