22 freight liner with 189,000. Plenty wrong with this truck. I’m going to ask for sure to go north!

So is the belt on the freightliner there? Is the compressor clutch engaging?

The belt is there. There is some melted rubber from the belt. Not a lot but something is rubbing somewhere. Compressor clutch I’m not sure, I’d have to figure out what that is!

    austinmike Thanks this.

My compressor failed on a 14 cascadia. The clutch froze up and goo oozed out of it. The belt started to burn up on it. Others are saying it powers the alternator too. So you truck will need to be towed at some point, due to no power to run the computer ECT.... Or just replace belt and let that one burn up to. Lol

Ha ! I’m not putting a dollar into this turd! It’s not mine so let her burn! If it was nice maybe but I’ll let them pay to tow it since they don’t care about me at all! The problem is they’ll let me sit for weeks on end , according to other drivers. So it’s turd or bust right now

I'm also a dreamer & I went broke twice trying to follow that dream & trucking bailed me out twice.

Find someone that's at a company for a few years now, no plans to leave, with an employer that hires newbies. If you are not tied to a city, move to that city once you get hired & see the pay & conditions are good enough to stay a year. That job won't be the only company & area you will ever see, just the area you will learn to do this job well until you have options be where you want, making better money or driving in areas you prefer. You will learn a lot your 1st year about what you need to be happier.

I .mostly loved Nationwide Express in Shelybille, TN. Next company was bought & closed by Old Dominion Freight Lines. ODFL is good. I mostly loved my 18 years at Averitt Express in Southeast USA, but worked 1 dedicated account. That account south of Nashville is now run by Venture Express/ Venture Logistics. I mostly loved my time at Quality Carriers pulling tankers. If I hadn't retired I could work for those companies again. They fit me. They might not fit others. All of them were responsible & fair IMO. Maybe other drivers will tell you their companies. I can only reccomend my path because it worked for me. Other drivers changed jobs more often. I learned to appreciate job stability. Others would call that a type of prison. You do you.

We all have regrets. I missed out on opportunities. EVERY plan has ups & downs.
