Let me start off by saying i have been happily employed with USA for a year now.About a month ago i picked up a load Temple Texas going to Tulsa Oklahoma on a Friday afternoon. It delivered Monday at 8am.I called ahead as soon as i got the load assignment to see if it could be delivered on Saturday as it was only 300 + miles they were closed on weekends. No problem.I live north of Dallas about 10 miles away from the Loves fuel stop in Anna Texas. So i took the load to the house sat at the house Saturday and Sunday got up early am Monday morning and drove to Tulsa arrived an hour and a half before the place opened.Had done this on more than one occasion with taking a load thru the house, granted never had been there that long before with nothing said about it.Well i was scheduled home the following week for hometime found out i was docked two days for being at my house for more than 20 hours.I asked my FM what was i expected to do drive to tulsa and idle the truck for two days?It was a short run for the whole weekend didnt get a resonse was just told that is company policy.I said ok will not happen again will make sure i leave b4 20 hours hits.Well today i delivered a load to FT Worth i am due home tomorrow.I got a load assignment that picked up at Dallas drop yard and delivers to Irving Texas at 430 in the morning.Asked FM can i pick up load take to the house and deliver in the morning he said 45 miles to my house from the drop yard was to far out of route and i would also be docked a day of hometime if i did that.So he was expecting me to sit at the drop yard all night tonight while i am 45 miles from the house.Well i had someone pick me up and i will take my personal vehicle back to drop yard in the morning and deliver the load then start my hometime.I talked to the guy that runs the drop yard and he said i can park my personal vehicle there so from now on when i get a load going thru the house i will leave truck and trailer at the drop yard and take personal vehicle home.So as far as they are concerned i was just taking my breaks at the drop yard.Maybey i am making to much of this but it seems if you have delivered your loads on time or early every time you stopped at the house they would not penalize you for stopping.Sorry this is so long just needed to vent a little

It does seem pretty silly
People need to understand rules are like laws, they need to be flexible
Laws (rules) cant think, thats what we are for -
seems like USA is starting to get real petty about things here lately. must be trying to run off all the .36+ drivers to make way for the new round of .27 centers?
-
Yeah i was thing that there should be some kind of flexibility with the drivers that perform for them but as i found out today i am just another driver to my FM.I will not be bending over backwards for him anymore.Pat that might be a good point i just hit my .36 last week
