I found another way to maximize shower credits if you frequent a particular truck stop. Be friendly with the staff. I've received many a shower when I don't have credits. Here's a tip: leave a tip. Seldom do the hardworking folks cleaning the showers get a tip. They REMEMBER you. Be sure to THANK them for their service.
I leave $1bill and a $1 casino chip that I collect from casinos around the country. My change jar is getting full so what I will often do is carry 10 dimes or 20 nickels in and stack it with the casino chip. Otherwise if I pour the change into the change machine at Walmart, they keep 9% of my change which is worse odds than the casino table games.

If your parked in a Pilot or Flying J, try and see if an O/O has an extra credit you can use. They have a program that gives a shower a day after a certain amt of fuel, plus the regular shower earned. That chain of trkstps gives me extra points on fuel, and I am sure many other O/O's, so don't be shy in asking. I would be glad to give any co. drvr a free shower.
