I'm confused, you mention going to driving school in many of your posts, but I thought from other posts you had been driving for decades. Before school was required or even a thing. Can you enlighten me?driverdriver Thanks this.

I was just gonna say.. Pull in to a truck stop late and you'll be making a new spot parallel parking on the curb. If not a rest area full will make you parallel park.. I do it almost dailyTequilaSunrise Thanks this.

Yeah and alot of the rest areas in Nebraska on the 80, the smaller ones are all parallel parking. At least they have designated "Boxes" for us to fit in so you can kinda go by that guide as long as the one in front and in back is in theirs correctly. Had to parallel into one last night after the guy who got there first gave up and took off. Took a couple GOALS but got it in there in the same condition it started in.okiedokie Thanks this.

So, yeah that's right. So far I've never been in a situation where school taught offset was going to happen. If I've that much room to pull forward, I'll just set myself up for a straight line back from the start. Offset the way it's taught in school is stupid...
As a box driver, 95% of my backs are 45 and 90. The other 5% are parallel. Straight line backing doesn't count, it's too easy. -
Just like any kind of backing, it takes time to master. Go slow, remember to allow time for the trailer to respond. Get out and look.
