I was at the national park the other week flew my drone around pissing people off like I always do it goes 45mph
I drove 2 years without ac or ps when I started. But, even with sleepers, we could get a motel every night. The vents and fans were a big help while driving. I think International did away with ac units on top around 73 or so.
Take an afternoon to study drone etiquette and you wont piss people off. You are pissing people off because you are not supposed to be flying them around other people.
That did happen as my AC units were failing. I'd get blasted with a face full of ice crystals. It was kind of funny actually.
The mechanic told me that I just didn't know my truck. "You need to take some time to read the manual so that you will know your truck and know what your truck can do." and bla bla bla I told him I read the manual. The AC isn't working. Then he politely suggest maybe I just don't know how to read. Well, when the AC went out, we would buy some freon with our own money and add it. It would work for about 3 days, just like before. So Freightliner wasn't fixing the leak, they were just adding more freon and telling us it was good to go. As far as the interior discomfort goes... Honestly, I don't know for sure what was going on there. One guy had his buddy mechanic change something on the computer so that he was able to idle it. There's a temperature reader behind the convex mirror on the driver's side that reads the outside temp. That had something to do with why the interior discomfort wasn't working like it should. If you cut the grounding wire to that sensor, the truck would idle just fine. You didn't get the temperature reading outside, and the check engine light would come on... but the truck would idle and keep you cool. So essentially you had to break the truck to make it work as advertised. In the winter, there was no issue, the truck would idle. Except in the winter, I didn't need it to idle. The bunk heater is a separate unit and that works just fine no matter what.
The OM has gone kitty bed, and is currently unavailable. The OM's Fleet is comprised entirely of aero DEF trucks, all equipped with APU'S.
