So....
...have you applied for any jobs somewhere else?
The load that was on it when the AC went down, you got it off the wagon, correct? There would be no more loads. AC would get fixed or I’m out. Sorry about the death in the family, but it’s not my fault.
How long would you go without AC

No A/C?
Well, I'm ashamed of some of you old timers,, no A/C, pfft. We never had A/C, or if the truck had it, it didn't work. I realize, that was then, this is now, and we didn't "live" in our trucks like today. Tell you what, those fans on my Peterbilt blew pretty hard, THAT was our A/C. What I find even more disturbing, is this person has a 2020 truck, and the A/C doesn't work? You,,,have,,,GOT,,,to be kidding.

I’ve got 2020 freightliner; I’ve had intermittent issues with front cab electronics being unresponsive. Usual symptoms are radio quits working and blower dial won’t change its setting.
A full reset via battery switch will make things work again. It will sometimes start working again while driving as well. There’s been at least once where I was looking for somewhere to stop to do the reset. Cab was starting to bake me. -
I'm an old guy I remember driving with no ac. It was an option the company didnt get. I remeber driving trucks with broken heat and ac. Then later on as an O/O I remeber driving for weeks with no ac. Because freightliner wanted $3000 to completly tear out and completly replace system. #### THAT, I'm not a young super super paratrooper anymore. Now a days it depends on my current load and outside temp. In your case it's not your truck, and boss either fix it or come get it. As for a room until it gets fixed? If the temp outside after driving is above 75-80. A company paid room is a demand of continued working. Other wise clean out truck get a rental car. Going home.

Several years before I retired the APU on my truck just died. Made a horrible noise for several hours before it went. I could not run my main engine parked. I was on a run along I 10 carrying potatos between Houston and Florida. It had to be over 100 outside. I was OK while driving. But once stopped it was rough. I really was not give an option. I spent a night in a hotel near Gulfport and after delivery was told where to go to get the APU fixed. Turns out they had to get TK to rebuild it. I was out of service for several days. Caught a 34 and got paid for it. Watched some baseball games and a NASCAR race.

I don’t go, either fix it or I am going to get a job somewhere that has an Air conditioned truck.
And if they get all snotty with me, I’ll bring it back.
I have once DHed from Rock Hill, SC to Newport, Ar ready to quit because they “Didn’t fix air conditioning out on the road.”
I made a believer out of them, and they fixed it over the weekend at the terminal shop.
Sometimes companies like to see if they can push you around.Savor the Flavor, buddyd157, Shawn2130 and 6 others Thank this. -

My truck dont count cause I own it and it will idle and apu will run with the truck running , both systems failing unlikely and will get it back home .
But in a company truck in hot weather it would be getting fixed now ! Or a paid motel .
And it dont even have to be hot .....in omaha yesterday it was only 68 but throw in 90% humidity and I was pouring sweat outside doing nothing .Shawn2130, D.Tibbitt and austinmike Thank this. -
Why should the driver do more than the people that own the truck and get the lion share of the revenue for moving freight? If the driver overcomes all obstacles and delivers, guess when the company will fix the truck.
