    I have two Freightliner daycabs:

    1) 2000 Freightliner FLD, 436,000 miles, Cat C12 motor, bought on eBay for $7,500 4 years ago
    2) 2009 Freightliner Columbia, 343,000 miles, Mercedes OM460LA engine, bought on IronPlanet for $16,000 1.5 years ago

We try to take good care of them, meaning change fluids, filters, grease, spray oil on the frame, etc and mostly follow up on codes.

But I want to know how many miles I can get out of these two trucks, realistically.

We do not use them roughly such as dirt hauling and mostly drive them in suburban environments, meaning not too much traffic lights, not like city delivery. Some regional driving also like 100 mile highway trips. A good amount of idling like waiting to warm up the cab in 0 degree weather.

I want to know what your experience is?

The FLD can be rebuilt and cared for endlessly.

    From a 1995 Pete owner.

Yup - Cummins and Detroit inframe kits aren’t that expensive, if you have the skills and tools.

If the cab is solid, you can repair it forever, even frame rails (big job, tho) I've driven trucks with over a million miles, and one guy in Cal. has over 8 million miles on his 1962 K-Whopper.

How about a shade over 2 million in about 45 years sound. It was one of the oldest I have had in my life and half the stuff on it did not work, Just the minimum required lights and so on.

We have about a dozen trucks we use that are in the 1 to 1.3 million mark. All FL Columbia daycabs, with mostly Detroit engines. Luckily we got rid of the Mercades ones (they all had horrible pull and fuel mileage)
    Do full PM's 20k miles.
