Absolutely, I agree 100 percent. I'm simply providing the way many companies operate today. When I have a trailer with those hubs, I check them. In fact, I do the post-trip inspection the way I was taught in school ... extensive and thorough. Even though I don't slip-seat, I still do a quick pre-trip in the morning before heading out.

I just had to put almost a quarter of a bottle in one of the hubs on this trailer I hooked up too today
J_FROG Thanks this. -
You're lucky if a driver has regular oil, and coolant (the right color) I bet no one even knows what oil goes in the hubs and I bet trainers don't even tell
-
But you are correct, a lot of trainers don't, mainly because nobody taught them. -

I've seen that video and others many times. I think its now in 4 threads at least now.
That is not one of my students, someone that lacks common sense doesn't last on my truck very long. And there was obviously no common sense being used there.
I've stated many times that some people are just not cut out to be drivers, yet many companies, including USA are trying to replace thinking with technology and expecting good results. It doesn't work that way. You must be able to think in order to get the best results while using technology to complement your knowlede. Not be your knowledge.
I was not there, but I can almost guarantee you he was following his GPS, Not looking ahead, not reading the signs and especially not thinking about what he was doing. -
i bet he still didn't get fired.
