Either 935 or 950 it cost us for a 90 mile tow. The 1st guy we called wanted 1700. I'd say for 50-100 miles 1200 seems about avg

Call another.
Be sure to specify bobtail of course,
In Memphis it was $275 anywhere in the city limit -
I'm just now finding out about this but some states have a tow board that's designed to keep overcharging and price gouging from happening. (Not sure where you're out of, but we have one here in Arkansas)
We were charged $2500 to pull a truck 15 feet back onto the road in a snow storm. Snow was covering the road, all tires were on the ground, not in a ditch, just got in the grass and got stuck. Even better, they stopped and asked if we wanted the tow, didn't even call them. They were on their way back from another tow when they saw him.
Most tow companies in our area typically charge $500 minimum.
The companies in this area all have an agreement not to charge less, according to one if the owners our owner talked to. -
Chicago its cash only. It can be in the thousands, if they go to the scale and have to take some freight off. If in doubt, go to a cat scale.

Depends on what and where.
Those huge 'rotator' tow trucks cost over a million, last one of those I saw was $1500.00 an hour, portal to portal.
Jackknife and in the ditch on the NJ turnpike will run around 5K plus storage.
Rollovers often run over 10K -
The last one I call wanted my location, equipment total weight more or less and pictures of my situation before he could give me a quote over the phone.

Usually a 3-4 hour minimum at 135-150 an hour
