How much should an O/O make?

    Gross to the truck. Monthly gross should average 20,000 minimum, not taking into account extended leave.
    So there is no hard and fast rule.
    Plus, some old guy, or younger guy that likes fishing more than working, with a paid for truck may only work 6 to 8 months a year.
    The big thing, is the title of that truck in your name or are you making the payments? Then you are the owner. Wheather you choose to run your own authority or lease it to a company is your decision.

    Unacceptable. Need hard number. What someone needs or how they spend their earnings is irrelevant.

    So, both you and I aren’t real owner operators, so personal net before taxes I say - $500/day, after ALL expenses.

    Can’t go week unless you define ‘week’.

    i have no doubt you do.

    Final note, I always figure if i have enough in my pocket at any given moment to satisfy my current need I have enough and am comfortable.

    No, because as I previously stated, I do not operate under my own authority. But Owner Operator is s term that has been misused for a long long time, as has been previously inadvertently pointed out by another poster.
