Pallet weight can vary greatly depending on how much wood is in the pallet. Some empty pallets only weigh like 50 lbs and others can weigh over 100.
I know this cause once upon a time I worked at Walmart playing with pallets of freights lol
The employees at these places are supposed to sort the different types of pallets as well as the people who load the trailers ... but you know how that goes.
How much should pallet load weigh?

Man XLS you get the good loads!
chep blue pallets are nice & Heavy -
When I worked at Walmart, we'd ship empty stacks of CHEP pallets and RPCs back to the DC on an empty trailer. We'd stack the chep pallets 15 high. We had to load the trailer to at least 50% full at it wasn't uncommon to load a trailer to 100%. Never occured to me that a trailer full of RPCs and pallets could be that heavy. At least the DC never brought it up.

Captive company, boxed loads BOLS are net product weight, plus packaging plus pallets, the combo bulk pack loads are supposed to be scaled subject to correction.
I'm usually around 78 k with a full load but if they get lazy and double up the pallets, it can be higher.
Chep pallets are heavier but can be pinwheeled and still unloaded even with a pallet jack.
I had a back haul from west TN going to Del Monte in WI, they loaded me up to around 79 k( I had a light tractor and a dry box, and there were single stacks a couple of places on the trailer, oak pallets going to a cannery. Probably a bit north of 100lbs each.Dominick253 Thanks this. -
Well sure it might say 42k on the Bills, but I wouldn't ever bet on it being right.
The Chep Loads I have had were usually 38-40k never really heavy.Dominick253 Thanks this. -
I pick up Chep pallets on my reefer and take them to our plant in Cactus Texas. The bills say 34,000 at most. Trailer is full from the front all the way to the back as high as they can go. So maybe you have some snow on top of your trailer or something. The regular wood non chep pallets we pick up in Coloarado going to Grand Island is not much either. Maybe in the 25,000 range. Like the other guy said I don't scale those. Never had a problem crossing any scale house either. There must be some type of problem either with that scale. Or they put some freight on top of those pallets.

regular pallets, 20-25K.
Last load of Chep pallets, around 35,000. These aren't light.Dominick253 Thanks this. -
I haul pallets every day and let me tell ya. Depending on the type of wood, type of pallet or quantity they can be VERY heavy when fully loaded. Then others can be quite light when fully loaded. I pull vans and flats & some days my new truck, which I've only put 50k miles on, is screaming " kill me now", lol. Just depends.
Dominick253 and 25(2)+2 Thank this. -
Used to haul trailers full of CHEP pallets....560 of them, if I recall. Weight around 37,600.
Dominick253 Thanks this.
