    He will get canned, if he hasn't already, he shouldn't have had it in his hand in the first place. Unfortunately this industry is getting worse with these idiots who can't put the #######phone down and pay attention.

    Don't forget the $11k for the employer. I couldn't believe he admitted that to the officer. So, next question, do drivers really not know that they cannot have their phone in their hand?

    Hubby has had one for over 10 years now. He never touches his phone while driving.

    Most carriers protect themselves from the $11,000 fine by having the driver sign a statement acknowledging that electronic devices are prohibited while driving.

    Despite that, I occasionally still see truckers holding their cell phones while driving.

    That spot where he layed it over is on the curve before Madison ave south of where the new road will be when it's done .
    Its narrow and rough for now ...there's houses down over that bank too.

    I used to work to work for the road dept in pottawattamie co. And that isn't the first truck that's been over that bank .

    Was wondering the same. Drive cam or did he fall asleep and decide it was better to say he dropped the phone? Or maybe just honest.
