Yup something like that would likely take all #### day for my rig and cost me a load which averages around $1200. Also agree on some charitys getting a lower price. I can only think of a few that would get me under $500 though and only two i would consider at $2 a mile or even free if i got to play with the wolves they care for.
How Much would you charge for this load??

Strictly market wise. Bottled water out of Pleasant Prairie WI, Niagra plant, brokered via Convoy or Uber Freight paid as much as $1200 for 50 - 60 miles for the most of the Summer time.
But there's an element of favour to consider here. This is a load on which you don't make too much money. So either you want to help the lady running charity or not?! -
I think he was way more than reasonable coming from someone that has no skin in the game.
Vampire Thanks this. -
$800 to the truck. Minimum.
If it were a legit charity or friend/family, probably free.
Any buck or attitude on a fair rate would result in a resounding’click’ on the phone. -
The freebie would depend heavily on the approach, and how legit said charity appeared, and if it was something I cared about. If it benefitted poor injured puppies, or starving orphans, I'd ask how many and when can I pick it up. Any hint of entitlement, or a cause I object to, sorry no truck for you, at any rate.
Otherwise, a $300-something local haul rate only works if I was moving 4 or more a day.Midwest Trucker and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
@Ridgeline I'm not hatin'... if I'm being honest, there's a short list of folks here I wouldn't mind meeting some time to meet the person behind the posts, fantastic or not. I've done so with several others and never been disappointed. I expect that would be the same should you and I ever cross paths.blairandgretchen, SL3406 and Siinman Thank this. -

Not an O/O, but if I were a customer, I wouldn’t blink at $500 and frankly $750 would seem reasonable. Given her response, I wouldn’t be inclined to cut her any break. Charge her full boat IMHO (and this is coming from someone who has donated plenty of their time to charitable causes).

A few things that she also needs to take into account what is the milage from where the truck parks to the trailer and what is the milage back to your to your yard. I know what my overhead is on a per day per truck bases and my cost per mile in this case the cost per day is what I would be looking at and I can tell you it is more than your price and then the driver has to be payed.
If you parked in the same yard you are looking at 120 miles so you are charging 2.70 a mile that sounds like charity to me, for all the other reasons already mentioned about trailer condition you could not book another load for that driver before he was hooked up and moving so I think 600 would be my minimum
Now on to charitys there are some that pass 90% of all donations onto the cause and some pass 10% on to the cause and most is used to pay the people that run the charity that live the high life on your donations got to be on the look out for scammers.Midwest Trucker, D.Tibbitt, JoeyJunk and 1 other person Thank this. -
Shes running a charity but I'm not . I would give her the rate, and say take it or find another truck. Waste of time arguing with people that dont wanna pay a fair rate for the work they need done.
Hulld, Siinman, Speed_Drums and 2 others Thank this.
