Going into my third year as an OTR driver, I am hoping to get between 60-70k this year, including bonus, but I expect to work 70+ hours a week to make that.
If I went into more specialized freight, I could probably earn more with the same effort, or the same with a bit less hours working.
As others have said though, I would say to keep your current job if that is an option. If it's not, or if your job is making you hate life, well, maybe consider it then.
I was an IT support technician before becoming a driver. My job was moved to Serbia by NCR. I decided my next job would be one than can't be shipped overseas.Chinatown Thanks this. -
