I went to this school for an hour they said straight up just backup as you like, can..? No pointers.. I did offset in a 42 FT TRAILER before, but Now I have to offset a 28 ft FLATBED with no kbar reference. Can I use my landing gear? So less pre trip but more on skills greatly appreciate some advice for the test!!! ><
I kinda understand what you’re saying - sounds like the school has a set of visual markers set up for you to ace the test with their equipment, that will not work in the real world. A 28’ flatbed will turn a lot faster - totally different from a 42-48. Doubles - like ABF or ODFL are all 28’ pups - they jackknife real quick. Longer trailers are more forgiving.
Watch the trailer tires. The further from the tractor the better. Gives you time to correct your over steer.
