Its slow here in midwest i get about 30-40 hours a week P&D, some P&D and Linehaul drivers only drive 1-2 times a week and some go weeks w/o driving. Over hiring during the peak of covid knowing freight volumes would eventually come down. Now i think they are secretly hoping guys quit so they dont have to fire them, idk if the bottom guys will get back to a point of driving 5 days a week anytime soon

Yea its crazy because they just started hiring drivers in at top rate last spring because they needed them so bad and thats right when we started really feeling the volume drop. 33 an HR drivers were flying over here, now you got 12-13 P&D guys being told to come in and work the dock everyday for 5-6 hours or stay home and not get paid. They dont need them on the dock either just taking hours from part timers its all a mess.

I’m 9-9 or 7-9 on rare occasions since new years…. -
