How's Everyone Doing in LTL Right Now?

we have 3 open bids right now. either cover vacations or call offs or just take a run to where we might be heavy.

those bids can be a crap shoot or very lucrative. guy is on vacation, open driver does it for the week.

need to clarify about calling in. open guys call or are called to be given choice , not IF you work but WHAT .....

 

i especially want you food and beverage guys to

POST YO' CHECKS.

i want to see how the pay is.

i would only go back IF:
my requirements:
1) Minimum $2500 gross.

2) 4 day work week

3) Helper provided.

Last year's end of year. On pace to make the same this year. Four day work week tues-friday, day shift, about to get my 4th week of vacation. Is it for everyone no but i don't mind it. I'm not getting rich by any means but im providing for my family and we live comfortably.

Can't speak for the OP you are replying to but here is the layout of my barn.

1 or more full weeks of vacation you can't get bumped.

4 days of vacation in conjunction to a holiday and you can get bumped any of your four vacation days.

Birthday no bump

Employment anniversary date no bump

Personal day no bump

 

i'd say that's not bad for a 4 day work week. BUT, how may hours per day are you working....?

5) Highest quality Magliner handtrucks. The bearings and wheels can make a BIG DIFFERENCE.

Now i said for #2) four day work weeks. i'm flexible on hometime; Maybe one or two nights out, out of the four days. Although, i would prefer home daily.
And really no more than 10 hours a day.

IF there was such a gig as 8 hours a day, daytime (generally) work, 4 day work week AND $2500 gross minimum, i would seriously be looking at it!

 

P.S.
i generally only use my handtruck maybe once a day. Today i didn't use it at all----it was just along for the ride.

Something to think about.....

 

I work around 50hrs in 4 days. All ramp no liftgate I do have a couple big dock stops that I don't have to use the ramp.
