I’ve explained before. Central has their favorites. They will put those favorites above all others with no repercussions. If you complain, it falls on deaf ears and you move further down the s**tlist. The runs you are assigned will see a corresponding s**tty down turn. Getting time off is tough. Vacation is by seniority and if you’re near the bottom you get the leftover dates.

How long ago did you work there? You realize this is how all ltl companies work and honestly most companies in general they dont care if yor parents die they expect you to work still and show death certificate its sad but its a reality now.. most trucking companies dont want you taking time off especially if your on a dedicated, bid run those are hard to get coverage for.. thats why i choose to run wild i hate dedicated its so monotonous and boring..
I mean i dont really see any better options for us to be honest.. like i stated before covenant logistics has a estes account that pays 80-86cpm and they pay per diem and you can net 1600-2500$ a week take home.. but its covenant i started with them 4yrs ago absolute worst company ever.. so if you think rl carriers dispatch is bad you haven't seen anything brotha.. theres horrible dispatch everywhere ive ever worked.. sometimes you get a good dispatcher but eventually they start slacking and fall off too and become i d i ots.. we cant win in this business best thing is to just do our best and hope for the best but expect the worst..
I appreciate your input and i know your telling your side which is mostly the truth. But everyone experience is different. Some people at covenant got 6-7k miles a week i barely got 3-4500 as a team so idk like i said hopefully my experience is better then yours was..
Im going to keepy eyes and ears open to see if hopefully a ups sleeper team opens up around Atlanta ga area in the future and ill apply and see what happens..
Im going to go ahead and press my luck with rl carriers ill keep you updated on how its goes.. wish me luck ill need it.. -
The way R&L has its line haul configured is fairly unique as far as I know. Everything is out and back same day EXCEPT teams. This is where the dilemma is. If you’re a favorite and can get dispatched like a team you’ll do fine. Not one of the favorites? That’s where you’ll get screwed. That team will be dispatched like a solo and miles will not be there. I don’t know how much clearer to be about it. The other thing is t be e terminal local dispatch has more control over those solo guys whereas teams are almost completely controlled by Central. Again, part of the problem. Run afoul of Mike and his buddies in Central in a Wilmington in the Emerald Palace? They’ll screw your as a team whether you’re in Norwalk, Miami, or Walla Walla Washington or any point in between. You are not going to walk into the best gig right off the bay with any LTL on line haul as a rule. Even if they claim they don’t have a seniority system there is an implied one everywhere. You sound like you’re waiting for a perfect job and it ain’t out there. Jump in, learn the system and do the work. There are pitfalls at all LTL’s and the largest by far is Central dispatch at R&L -
I aint looking for the perfect job because there isnt one in any industry.. yes i already know there's unions and non union in ltl and i know what companies are and which aren't.. its all based upon seniority and they always play favorites.. its the same all over.. -
LTL linehaul is monotonous. It’s terminal to terminal. You speak much but hear little. The LTL’s operate very differently. The difference s will affect how you run. Goodbye, you seem to know more about it than me(that’s sarcasm from someone who’s worked in LTL probably before you were born)

Im not sure what combined fedex freight and ground would change unless they got rid of contractors all together and hired within or if fxf goes contractors. The fact of the matter is no matter ltl or tl you can make up to 100k plus trucking these days. I came to this forum for answers and insights.
I appreciate your expertise and information but to sit and say i dont know anything is belittling to say the least. I pay attention more then most truckers about the business. I run fedex ground teams but the miles aren't there to be honest they never have been in the 2yrs ive been here i was just trying not to jump to a new company but feel forced in many ways.
I even asked you since you know everything whos the best company for teams that allow pets, and pay the most money and have frigerators and inverters in the truck. Im not trying to truck for 20-40yrs.
Trucking has always been a foundation for me build on it get in and get out.. idk all the drivers ive talked to at rl and in different forums they all said for teaming rl was a great company and most just ended up wanting to drive solo in the end but say they got a bid run right away or in a short amount of time and it worked like clock work. Also i dont care about bid runs i want to run wild. Bid runs are boring.
I believe everything your saying.. so please again if you know a better company and that checks the boxes i need please let me know. -

So glad you were able to respond.. i guess you can tell from previous posts before me the gentleman obviously doesn't like rl carriers and was trying to talk me out of it because i guess he knows everything who knew lol.
I spoke with a man named gator from rlc and he said it was a typo error the 150k they were supposed to take that job post down but idk why they didn't thats miss leading. But anyways glad your still there and running strong.
Yeah me and my wife rather run wild we get bored on dedicated routes but who knows we will see what the future has in store. So all in all you still like or love rl carriers there still treating you well and have no complaints? Wow that seems to be a pretty generous raise.
Will rl carriers let you run a 6th day if your wild and want to do a 24hr rolling restart at home or 34hr reset and back out again? Cause i think if someone works a 6th day once or twice a month 150k or more is definitely do able for sure.. how long did it take you to get a bid run? Has freight still been consistent even in the current economy state?
