Go local LTL/food service. Profit, be home pretty much every night. Do it, you'll never regret it

Driver, I was reading all the replies to your post and they are all right on the money. I have never driven for Western Express but I have heard some bad stories about them. If you have an excellent driving record thus far and have your 2 years of experience, I would choose the terminal closest to your home, pack up and get a rental car back home. If you have less than 2 years you might want to get a backup plan before going home. It depends on what you can afford to do.
Whatever you do, don't abandon your truck! It could possibly go on your DAC Report.

The more experience you get the more you will be worth and the better chances you will have of getting hired by the better trucking companies. And don't be too hard on yourself. You just learned how some companies operate and what doesn't work for you. Look at it as a lesson learned. I used to deliver piggybacked trucks to the Freightliner dealership there in Sioux Falls, SD and another place in Watertown, SD so there are options for that area. There's a Flying J right across the street from them too so I know trucks pass through there all the time. Maybe you can get some insight from the people there at Freightliner. There's a bearded guy in charge of the body shop right next to the hoist who seemed like a nice person always willing to help. Don't remember his name. He can probably point you in the right direction for local and/or regional.
    Good Luck!

Nope, I just figured it was as good as any other company for learning flatbed.
I have a clean MVR, no tickets. I'm just taking lots of crap for refusing to drive OOS equipment.

Hey thanks man. I had been looking into a few other companies in the area like Van Wyk. You always have great suggestions for people and I appreciate that. You are a real asset to this forum.

Their not working on it or you would have home time by now. It is time you called someone over your Dispatcher's/Fleet Manager's head. Respectfully tell them you go home within 10 to 14 days or they route you home so you can clean out your tractor. Be prepared to actually do it too!

How do you know your wife is sleeping with a Swift driver?

You get home a week later and he's STILL trying to back out of the driveway!

Your first mistake was asking them to go home. You need to tell them whats going on, not ask them what you hope they will allow to go on. You say you are not trying to sound like a wuss, but what are we except what we allow others to treat us as? You dont have to quit like others are suggesting. I have worked at a bottom feeder like western express. You just have to be firm and mean what you say, nicely of course, but mean it. Once they see you arent a pushover they will cave into your demands and move onto the next dope that they can smack around.
