I drove for Schneider years ago. I lived in Dallas and took off three days every other weekend. My "weekends" without hometime, I would get home sometime Saturday with a load going to Laredo for Monday. I would never stay out longer than 12 days or so, never have and never will.

you're gonna have to find a company closer to home. you dont have to work for a huge company ya know. do ur research....and dont let others tell you to suck it up. just because they were abused for a year, doesnt mean you have to be. I never drove otr, and have always been home for every weekend....its doable, but no one is gonna hold your hand. good luck!

It really does depend on the dispatcher. The 3 yrs with Werner I don't recall never not getting home on the day I requested.

I was unlucky enough to load at P&G in Albany last night. I know many of you will laugh but the op might want to think about working for Swift. They have a large drop lot there; P&G is one of their big accounts. Btw, Albany looks like a nice place.

It's a really nice place if you like #### holes with no jobs and bad schools. But other than a few suburbs, that pretty much describes all of georgia.

Have you made it to your reg board DBL yet? Either way , if still with trainer DBL or reg board DBL, you need to be in contact often, reminding them.Understand though, it wont or cant always happen you get home the day you want to. I tried to plan it for a couple days ahead of actual time. This is all dependent on what you hired in for too. Week isnt enough time to plan it out. I suggest putting it in for when you first start out from home time. Develop that relationship with your DBL. Make it a good one. more likely to be better taken care of. I'm not talking bribing or any of that ########. Do your job to the best of your ability and limit the mistakes. Stay in close contact with DBL, but understand they have many drivers they work with. Keep making your concerns known. After 6 months in, I suggest seeing aht may be available for dedicated. Most times better money and definately more consistant hometime.

Try Southern Ag. They have a big terminal in Albany (pronounced AlllBINeeY, not Albany - like upstate NY; for the indoctrinated LOL - originally from Fitzgerald) and when it's peanut or sweet tater season . . . GRAAVVVYYYY!!!
