T to T had it right when he mentioned the FM.

If you have a mediocre FM that can't think outside of the manual and have a little common sense then it's a rough ride. I have talked to many people who have been with Averitt MANY years in truckload, but have gone thru 4, 5, or more FM's during that time...

Things like fuel, load security, amenities, etc... are why Averitt wants you to stay at a yard if possible, but it's not a REQUIREMENT. (I say amenities cause why would they spend all this money just to have drivers stay at a Pilot, Petro, etc...) and fuel... yea it's a huge concern as we all know, but again if the FM thinks outside the manual then it's not so bad... Only once did my FM say a word about anything I did while driving... He wondered why I went 60 miles out of my way to drive to a yard to shut down, but once I told him I had a issue with my APU and wanted to see if they could fix it, nothing more was said. I have also had my share of times with no load after a delivery, but I don't get a run around. FM calls me and straight up says I'm looking for a load but there is nothing out there right now. Sit tight and I'll find something ASAP. So I knock on wood every time I see/hear about bad FMs...

Long story short... I wish you the best T to T and hope your doing well for yourself and family. Averitt is not the best out there, but it's the best for what we want at the time.
