I'm looking into a 2011 387 pete 700k miles, def, Cummings isx. the askin is 65k. If you didn't have a commandin down payment what would you offer and besides an overhaul, what'd be your concerns Cause right now I'm feelin like they could have my left arm so I'm already at s disadvantage. T.I.V.
I need some opinions.

$65k is kinda pricey for a 387 with 700k mi. 387 fall into the same category as the T2000, Freightliner Columbia and Century.
Not bad trucks,.. usually good money makers. Just dont command a large resale value. $65k is about $25k too much in my opinion for a truck with that many miles.
Is this your first truck? Why dont you have a down payment? Do you have any start up capitol at all?
Financing and starting up with with minimal capitol is very risky and in my opinion 1 break down away from complete failure.
Personally I would look else where for a more reasonably priced truck to start with.
Hurst -
J.S., I agree with Hurst. That 387 is pretty new, 2011, but 700K is the main thing. It may not need an overhaul for a couple of years, if all goes well. But even so, $65K is a high asking. You can find a comparable truck for less money. Speaking of which, if you are tight for downpayment, you might consider driving company trucks for a while and building your bank numbers. Owning a truck costs money, even a good truck, and it's never going to cost less as time goes by. My $.02. Best.

I will pitch my tent next to Hurst that price seems high for a straight purchase - now if this is a no money down ,lease purchase all bets are off

I agree with others it's over priced

2011 = 2010 = 6:year devaluation. Should be 35k
If you find a 2013 = 2012 for 65k... That's good. I think. But in the 400k range -
Ryder used trucks are pretty reasonable. I agree the price is too high for the truck you are considering.
Other postings are talking about the low rates on the load boards.
I was o/o for 3 years. I make a little less as a company driver.
I do miss the freedom as an o/o to take time off.Dominick253 and ImaTrucker1 Thank this. -
Bit high, as said.

Go to truckpaper.com enter 65k as max price and see what comes up. Many much lower mileage newer model year trucks including Peterbilt 387s. Personally I'd run away from a used emissions truck. Too expensive to keep all that crap working properly even if you do egr tune ups regularly. Run away from that deal with your hands crossed covering your ### as you leave cause they're trying to bend you over.

Good rule to follow in business:
NEVER NEGOTIATE FROM A POSITION OF WEAKNESS.
Save your money until you have a large enough down payment that a legit bank will finance you.Dominick253 Thanks this.
