i-shift problem ,help please

    Note: A 2008 truck is equipped with a I-Shift version C the 2010 (and higher) truck equipped with DEF are normally equipped with a I-Shift Version D
    Some difference between version C and D version.
    For Charlie you will need to connect a Tool to read inactive code inside of the ecu(s)
    I'm suspecting you have a Data Link problem or TECU Power supply Problem, depends of the year of the truck have a look in the battery box first for loose connection, also master switch under the cab LH.

    took truck to dealer, got bad news need a new transmission on 2008 Volvo d13 w/ishift. As a result of the associated expenses, I have decided to convert to a manual transmission. Got a parts list of whats needed and associated from dealer. Got my old volvo with a super 10 trans, shifter, master cylinder etc still on truck so will be making use of most of the parts....will advise when done for those with interest...thank u.

    Att: Volvo engine D-13 with I-Shift transmission or Manual Fuller transmission do not use the same flywheel housing thickness 5 milimiters difference.

    putting new clutch, new flywheel, new rear main seal, Super10 trans....etc, should be done arnd friday...thanks for the info...

    Note: I recheck my note, a D-13 engine with a I-Shift Transmission use a 179 mm deep Flywheel Housing Volvo call this (A short Flywheel Housing).
    A D-13 engine with a Fuller Manual transmission use a 184 mm deep Flywheel Housing Volvo call this (A long flywheel Housing)
    You should not install a Manual Fuller Transmission on a 179 mm ( short Flywheel Housing) because the transmission input shaft will apply an excessive pre-load on the crankshaft thrust bearing and burn it very fast.
    I saw the problem once.I saw the repair bill too. . .

    For information purpose:
    The two thickness(179-184 mm) flywheel housing exist for D-11 and D-13 engine but for a D-16 engine only one flywheel housing thickness exist for both I-Shift or Manual transmission.
    For D-11 and D-13 if the time comes to order a Reman engine it's a good information to remember because change the flywheel housing is not quick and easy job.

    Point taken and appreciated yes for d13 manual and auto flywheel housing different sizes.....just got a new d13 flywheel housing from Volvo today so putting new clutch, new flywheel, new rear main seal, idler gear, Super10 trans, pedal, etc

    Also for the starting circuit you will need to by pass the relay R-13 in the tec tray to eliminate the I-shift interaction.
    The cluster will need to be reprogram to eliminate the transmission gear display screen (if you wish).
    It's possible your VECU need to be reprogram to eliminate the I-Shift function.
    I'm interested by your project, let me know please if you found another problem not mentionned yet.
