I-66 in VA inside the fruit loop is another one that’s off limits to trucks.

What's the reason they don't want to trucks through Atlanta anyways?

Just traffic. Hit that rascal at about 8 am and you'll understand why

    I
Yes , I know a couple of guys that’s gotten busted for it .

won’t save you any time on 75 or 85
they are always so jammed up where they run together in town .

it might save you half an hour if you’re going streight through on I-20.

That’s the entire reason they built the bypass around Atlanta, to get the passing thru trucks out of downtown .

same reason they are in the planning Stages of building truck only lanes from Macon to Atlanta .

they need to build an upper level on 285 that only has exits at the other interstates .
All the passing thru traffic could use it and not have to deal with the local traffic .

    Probabaly cost $60-75 billion

or about the same as what we are giving to Ukraine every couple months .

Wouldn't want to be here anyway. Last time I was near D.C. it took an hour to drive 20 feet.

All things equal it will save a couple of minutes. And if you use live traffic on your GPS there's times it'll save a LOT more. But then again it can also be the loser way to go. For me personally I always tried to stroll thru there between 10pm and 5am.

Yes, they do. There’s a handful of ga state troopers that have a chubby a cat can’t scratch for truckers inside “the zone”.
If you’re in there, better have local delivery bols in hand.

I use I-20 a lot going through Atlanta, if you can run the speed limit on both I-20 is 12 minutes faster than I-285. I hardly ever go through town on 75/85 usually not worth it.

Express Lanes in Chicago a no-no to trucks too, I was pretty green, and stupid, but shows the mentality of Idot( that looks an awful lot like Idiot), why not have the express for trucks? 90% are going through anyway.

Blagoje, mitmaks and MACK E-6 Thank this.
