Idaho rollover as it happens

It's a tough lesson learned.

 

It didn't look like it was wind, it looked like the driver was either distracted or not paying attention while trying to stop on the shoulder. I'm familiar with that section of I-84 near Boise. It says driver wasn't injured. Maybe we will learn more when the driver shows up looking for a job with a recent rollover.

 

You can see his right rear tandem tire dropped off the edge and that's what started everything. If anything, it's a good lesson on how a moment's inattention can cause you to wreck before you know what's happening. I had no idea a trailer tire dropping off on the shoulder could do that.

 

Thanks for the video. I might be wrong but I think was the same day within hours of the truck off the overpass in post I started in Delco. After I left that scene I continued to Caldwell (West of Boise) to load and saw this semi rolled over on the EB side as it goes up over the climb. It had freeway bogged down on my return so I bypassed by going down to Kuna area before returning to 84. Definitely looks like inattentive driver on shoulder.

 

Well I hope the guys ok. But I bet he won't see the shoulder as a parking spot anymore

 

, what's the big mystery here? And thank you God for chubby healthcare nurses who stop to help.

 

Dang!!!! Did he fall asleep at the wheel? If he did, that's one hell of a wakeup call!

 

A soft shoulder will grab those wheels and pull them to a stop fast. If his speed was cut in half before leaving the surface it would have worked out much better for him.

 

He'll need a physical therapist or a few trips the the chiropractor. That was one heck of a whip when the tractor slammed over.
