The loads I did this week I booked last week before the fuel prices went crazy.

Today, I can't tell you how many loads I called on that iterally just popped onto the board and instantly they were gone.

Also there are a few places that I do regular loads for and they either have not raised the rates at all or they've actually lowered them.

It certainly does not seem like the Brokers are in a hurry to compensate for the price increase in fuel, and it sure seems like everybody is trying to jump on whatever they can as fast as they can.

At least that's my experience today in my little corner of the world that I work.

    What are you guys seeing?

Iam not sure just how he is operating to be honest ..he has never had 2 nickels to his name .. There's 4 sale barns I and 3 other hands pull loads out of.. he come in and cut the rate a month ago by 18% ..
It won't take long and he'll be broke .. I'll wait him out .. my stuff is paid for it can sit while he digs his own grave .. I got other customers I can pick and choose loads from

I called on a few loads yesterday out of San Antonio and any of the decent ones were gone when I called.Rates have not changed one bit even when I look at the Houston market, so I’m going to sit a little bit and see if they start raising them to compensate for the fuel price increase.

Picked up a load yesterday paid about 500 to 700 more for the lane than usual. Booked another for about a 1000 more on another lane . I'm seeing some lanes up a little and others blew up . I'm also waiting for hot loads or last minute to capitalize on the market. To you new guys hold on tight .

People always come in and cut the freight rates.
At one time some loads for 400 miles were $1500.
Now drivers are doing that 400 mile run for $1000 thinking they’ve done something, walking tall.
I quit running to the place in Joplin, let em have it.
