Papa Johns sounds like a company I use to work for. Work you like a dog make you run illegal. Then when someone got hurt blame it on you. When they know the trucks are running illegal. But that does not matter as long as the loads are delivered. So for all those drivers that are running illegal guess what your luck will run out.

Well, you got lucky for a newbie, because they run Sundays too. And if you really are doing $1800 a week, that tells me that you're basically living in one of their trucks and showering 'in house' between runs. Your lack of posting here is a testament to the fact that you haven't had the time to breathe and get online.

I'll bet you spend most of your weekend off sleeping, because you're so wrung out. Unless of course, you're in your 20's.

Three to a truck is a cakewalk compared to how it used to be. They used to be so shorthanded, we would do a 800 mile run with 2400 pieces solo and collect team pay.

When you could make $700 in 30 hours, greed would win out over common sense. I did it just like any one else trying to keep food on the table and shoes on the kids, and I already admitted, it was wrong.

PJ's isn't the only culprit. They don't "force" - they just coerce when the chips are down. And of course, they wag a few dollar bills.

Ride the runaway train while you can. Unfortunately, when it crashes, someone is going to get hurt, or killed.

Better ingredients, better pizza..... and exhausted drivers.

Only person who "makes" you run illegal is the same person you see in the mirror.

This is a really old post, but I thought I would post for any one who is researching this company.
My husband works here. And yes it is true, you work your butt off and get hardly any sleep, BUT he is home every other day! He makes great money 1200 a week or more and he gets to spend a lot of time with his family. He says its worth it! He actually works at the one in Dallas tx so it may be a little different.

As far as I knew, Dallas was one of the better run commissary's. And when I did work for them in NY, I was raising my kids, and had 3 pretty good runs, a great co-driver, and a good schedule. We had it down to a science, didn't take any extra work and basically told them, " We'll show up for our 3 runs and it's all you get. Take it or leave it."

Orlando wasn't the same. It was a mess and guys were constantly worried about falling asleep at the wheel. It was also an "in house" operation. A little different than what your hubby is doing. He is with Worldwide Dedicated, correct? Part of UPS Logistics?

Look from your perspective, it is probably a great gig. I'm pushing 51 years old now, if your hubby is still young and has the energy, and it works for you, that's fine. I was 38 when I started and ran pretty hard for a few years.

But the bottom line is if he is lying about being in the bunk when he is actually working unloading a stop, it could be a world of trouble if something happens.

Papa Johns could be a great gig if the right people ran the operation. Lots of perks, and it's a job that will be around for a while. If he is with WWD, make sure he gets his 10 years in. It's a pretty sweet retirement if he does.

some people are just ignorant, the old school days of running until you drop regardless of hours worked, and working in sub human conditions are things of the past in most places, and illegal as well depending upon what were talking about.

hes got a story to tell, theres no reason to personally attack him by saying hes a snitch, crybaby, etc.

You sir are an idiot who lacks empathy. The gentleman is trying to heighten our awareness as to the level of corporate greed that has shaped this industry as of lately. Didn't your mother ever tell you that if you've got nothing nice to say, keep your fat trap shut ?

In all honesty, the only reason people run illegally is because in the end they care as little as the companies that let them do it. What is the point of making 100K+ if you are never home to enjoy all the money you are making? God forbid anything ever happens while you are behind the wheel running illegally, you will be held responsible and your company will throw you under the bus so quickly, you wont know what happened.

The biggest problem I see with most people that have major complaints like this is if you do something long enough, you get used to it. If you are fudging your logs week after week, after awhile it stops seeming like a bad thing, and just becomes normal to you. Just remember, there are always legitimate companies in every type of driving business that will pay you, run you legally, and actually care about the people they have working for them. If you aren't working for one of these companies, look around.

    DONT BE COMPLACENT!

bamanation because you consider it "snitching" does that make your opinion less or more than smoothshifter's? In your eyes more in many others less. I have no problem with what smoothshifter is doing, trying to bring light to bad practices. When that driver killed that van load of people outside of Louisville during the truckshow was that just a stupid driver or a bad company puching or both. I've been doing this 22yrs and outlawed most of it..safely, those days are gone sadly. The reality is now ity takes being in the wrong place at the wrong time and your whole world is gone and your in jail for vehiclular manslaughter. Call it snitching if you want to but I call it helping to clean up our industry and maybe just maybe one driver at a time we can get this fixed so DOT will lighten up the hand on the throat. I hope for your sake that you are not colltteral damage thru not fault of your own by being in the wrong place. You should try if you don't agree saying that's not the action I would take instead of showing your @#@ by dogging another driver when it will only benefit you in the long run. Off soapbox now.....
