I will be trying that next time my load crosses over Wednesday.
[/QUOTE]
I am going to have to ask my DM about this also. I can only see it if you pick up a cross country one on Monday the Delivers on Friday. Try and t-call to your self on a Wednesday and get half the miles in, and start the new week already with some great miles.

Injun Thanks this. -
One last attempt to educate you before I write your ignorance off as hopeless. I said the WA tax was $.36, you said $.364, a difference of 4/1,000 of a dollar, NOT $.224. Sometimes the price is better in other states, sometimes not as both you and I have said. Right now my OR price is $.50 -$.80 cheaper than WA pump price, my OR price is $.44 cheaper than my WA price, thus making OR fuel the better deal.
As for not understanding IFTA I was dealing in it before you were born. Your ignorance of base price (cost price - fuel tax) shows you really need to get someone to explain IFTA to you.

You certainly have made your point but if you combed your hair different maybe people might not notice.scottied67 Thanks this. -
Well that's what we are all here for is to obtain and share knowledge on how to run our businesses more successfully.Native Dancer Thanks this.

you said 14 cents was the WA fuel tax ... maybe a little amneisha??
if you miss typed thats your problem own it and deal with it
for 2 you made a blanket statement and only after being crossed twice you decided to state the facts and spell it out for what you are saying..
great you get a good deal in OR most don't and in a rare case like yours it makes sense to buy fuel in OR
again that is not the norm...
and my hair is not long enough to comb but like the some of your statements proves your ignorance -
Perhaps you would be kind enough to stop sputtering and show me where I said WA fuel tax was $.14. Perhaps read Prairie Boy's post as he may have explained it better than I can to you.

Gentlemen, let's not turn this thread into a pizzing match... I really don't want to have to close and clean threads.. especially ones that have so much valuable information...
-
Thank you scottied. I didn't mean for this to sink to the depths it has. I should have exercised a little more self control. I also didn't realize this thread had to do with Swift as oppossed to O/Os in general and maybe your fueling requirements are different than mine. How do you get your money for fuel? If a load pays $1000 do you have a com-data card that say $350 is loaded on that you use for fuel purchases? Can you buy fuel wherever you want or are you limited to certain locations? Can you get advances on a load to cover meals etc.?
The one thing I would like to emphasize is prices are fluid and the best state to purchase in today may not be the best tomorrow. Sometimes it seems that about the time I figure out the cheapest prices are on the north or east end of the states they change it and the best prices are on the south and east ends. It's a conspiracy.scottied67 Thanks this. -
GuysLady and Injun my apologies. I'll try and do better, not quaranteeing anything but I shall make a Herculean effort.
GuysLady, scottied67 and Injun Thank this. -
Thing is, while this is posted in the Swift forum, it is good information for any Lease or Owner Op. There are, of course, things not applicable to all situations, and everyone here has added a piece to the puzzle, whether leased to Swift or not. Redd stepped in for a few minutes and added great stuff to the discussion. He is not attached to Swift.
Regarding your questions. We fuel where ever and when ever we want to that takes Comdata. Money is not loaded onto the card. It works like an unlimited fuel credit card that is paid weekly. Like company guys, L/Os are allowed $105 in advances per week. I find it is very, very rarely necessary. But then, I tend to be a bit of a tightwad with Taiowa money.scottied67 and Native Dancer Thank this.
