My plates are good until September 2016.
My ifta stickers expired as of midnight last night but I luckily they give u a 60 day grace period on ifta stickers.
Didn't make sense to buy new ones yesterday when mercer was gonna give me new ones next week

Well I called yesterday an found out myself an told them the deal. She said if you are leasing on with another carrier you are fine because you have a 60 day grace period. She emailed me a copy of that policy just in case I did get stopped.
I was gonna pay for the stickers on yesterday until she said it would be a waste of money IF you are leasing on with someone else next week -
She said I can't cancel until I have lease agreement from mercer in hand
-
You will get the lease agreement at orientation.
Can probably fax it to your states ifta office. Or walk it in the next time you go home
-
Well, technically you could, but she WA referring to making the drive up there. But you can cancelthe account for a variety of reasons, just make sure you do as soon as you can so you don't have to file for the quarter or incur a fine, like I didjacquesi23 Thanks this.

I don't think he has to fax it in, you can simply tell them you aren't running anymore.
-
She said that if I was shutting down my authority then they can cancel it. However if I'm going to another authority then in order for me to drive there I would need to keep it up until I was leased on an I can do one of 2 things: fax it back or stop by when I'm home. Then only will they change it over to mercer.

I think I see the confusion. It sounds like the lady at ifta is thinking you will be using your own ifta, while operating under mercers authority. When in fact you will be using Mercers ifta.
Thats why she says she needs the lease agreement, to change what mc number you would operating under.
You will need to file one more tone with ifta because it's a new quarter. But the only miles you should have on that report is the miles you ran to get to Mercer and any bouncing around you do too you are officially leased on. I wouldnt even bother with those, they aren't going to check later how you got to orientation with a new carrier. -
I explained to her the best I could of what I was trying to do. She totally understood what was going on an she even got the supervisor involved to make certain of everything. I told her my decals will expire at midnight an that I am starting with a different company next week.
She said "you're fine, you have a 60 day grace period"
Get the lease agreement done an send it back to us an we will complete an delete everything for you free of charge. -
So basically you wouldn't worry about the decals ? Just file your quarterly
