XLR= C6 Corvette (Y platform) roadster, but with Northstar engine (320 horse) and 6L80 6-speed automatic transmission.

XLR-V= XLR, but with 4.4 liter supercharged Northstar (443 horse), Corvette Z51 brakes, and 19-inch wheels.

    Also quite rare.

I'm no fan of Cadillac, but I thought the XL-R was a brilliant idea. Take the last generation Vette and give it a few tweaks and a slightly different body and instant sports car.

The XLR was the successor to the Allante' which was a very misunderstood vehicle; since the Cadillac brand had been marketed to the Geritol demographic and only embraced by the gold chain and sunglasses subset of the younger generation nobody could figure out why they should pay so much for a Caddy without a back seat.

Looks like I may be training people soon.

Look for some interesting posts in the near future.

Just a quick note for any of you who might have been bored by the lack of AAAAAAAARRRRRGH since I left Celadon.

Ten hours are up but I did my pretrip earlier. This tire load turned out to be a drop and hook, not a live load, so ended up sitting around burning off my ten. Just logged on duty, now to spend the next several minutes perfecting the ancient art of the thumb twiddle.

Expect to have my black belt in thumb twiddling in about an hour or three (loading at Sterilite)

If it's the Sterilite in Massillon, Ohio, better get comfy.

Gonna train at least one guy; met him on this thread and based on our conversations he decided to come to work here at Big M. He asked if I could train him (new guy--ink still wet on his CDL). Depending how the situation turns out I may keep training. The money's good and I can use it.

But I won't be shy about putting a stop to it if necessary.
