Took a LOA from Werner Tuesday. Needed to come home, and somehow my hometime was screwed up again.
So ya, I got a rental, emptied out tractor, turned it in to saftey and went home.
48 hrs now and I'm bored. Lol.
It's good being home and being local again.
If one of those ups wiggle wagons don't crash, my parts for my car will be here tomorrow or Saturday so I can repair the cahs.
Mrs BTG seems to have finally relaxed now that I'm home.
Trust me that takes A TON of stress off my shoulders.
Need her happy .
Anywho... what to do. Take a local gig, or go back to Werner?
Fire away.![]()
I'm bored

Start a independent trucking school. 1 man, 1 truck, 1 student at a time. But make it a 3 hour corse so you can turn em like the big mills....
Bean Jr., alghazi, Mudguppy and 1 other person Thank this. -
Saw part is due to bs, I couldn't be a trainer till September.
Now before you go oh one year blah blah, I was a ops mgr/ trainer at 2 previous truck companies.
I wouldn't be running the truck as a team. As a solo/ super solo when needed.
My focus with students would have been primarily backing, lane control, backing, lane control, inner city space management, backing, logs, mapping , mapping and backing -
Stay local. I went local. Though I do miss the road on beatiful summer days I miss my wife more when I was gone.

Having NONE of thee above for weeks at a time and my health slowly deteriorating in the process. -
I'd say MOST local places in the northeast would pay better than Werner (there's exceptions to every rule), so to me it's a no brainer. Go local, Bro. And don't look back.

Tell Werner to kick rocks. There's plenty of local gigs in the greater Boston area.

Trucking screws up a lot of relationships. Happens frequently. Some women handle OTR better than others. Your better half is sending you a message. Are you listening?
scottlav46 Thanks this.
