Yup that sounds like Filthadelphia allright!! God I hate the east coast! Glad Swifty seems to be treating ya allright there Mario!
Still no feedback on delivering early. Checked the instructions. "No FCFS. Appt only." *razz* Guess I'll just run this last leg and take it easy at a nearby truckstop. I can catch up on sleep. But I won't be able to scan this trip in before the pay period ends. Hello wimpy check on Tuesday!
Almost every time I tried that at CELADORK i got told NO and then got jacked up by dispatch for bothering the reciever.
Really? It was our OTR DM that taught us to do it. Only once have we gotten fussed at by anyone and it was a security guard that I spoke to. He said "doesn't matter how cute you are you'll get told no just like a male driver". I thought that was funny since I was on the phone with him. How'd he know if I was cute or not? LOL
Well this was after I had rammed about four loads in a row down the recievers throats lying my ### off( actually only at 1) that I had been told I had an appointment. You gotta realize that this was when I lost my patience with Chittedon they were giving me 700 mile runs and a week to do them in and telling me I couldn't drop them early at a drop yard and they wouldnt even TRY to get an earlier appointment. They forgot that some of the loads actually had broker numbers on them also in the quallcomm, so I called the broker a couple of time and the Load planners got a bit .....oh shall we say UPSET that I circumvented them. When I get mad I can be downright EVIL
yeah I called a receiver today and asked about early delivery. Scored a 22 hour early delivery yay. But the took a long time to unload so I had to figure out where to spend the night. Could have made it to a truck stop not too far from the final destination however traffic was terrible so I made it to a rest stop a few miles after a scale and yes Murphy's Law did kick in and prepass beeped red and I was freaking out about the time. Driving time today: 10:45 miles 503.
Whew. Finally back home. Getting to San Antonio from Laredo was like pulling teeth. Especially when the regular driver manager goes home and the night crew take over. First I had a "repositioning move" to El Paso that my DM said would work into my plans for hometime. All I needed was an empty from the terminal. Yeah right. Well I figured a few empties must've been out there, so I get looking. Next thing I know. . . POOF! Repositioning move preplan gets cancelled. Next they try to foist a 1300 mile load on me to one of those buroughs near Chicago. I complain and the planners say "It doesn't deliver until Sunday." Yeah but I'd still have to leave some time on the 23rd to make it on time. That's not even 24 hours to enjoy my home time. That's not good enough. So that goes. So I wait. And wait. And wait. Finally at midnight. . . "T Call in San Antonio" Yay! But it feels weird dropping a trailer and not having a macro to send in to let somebody know I made it on time. Not even a "spot trailer" or a "relay" mac. Swift is weird that way.
