Would they expect an OTR driver to work on the loading docks?
-
Conway truckload (otr) don't work the docks. On very rare occassion, we will get paid extra to unload a trailer (a certain tire account comes to mind), but 99.9% of the time we don't touch the freight.

Oh jeez, if those are like the one tire load I did for Werner, it's an absolute nightmare. Tires stacked floor to ceiling and I had to unload them onto pallets one by one while at the same time staying ahead of the forklift guy, while at the same time sorting them based off of tire size. It was probably the most exhausting driver assist I've done in my entire life, even though I had one guy from the company helping me. It still took us four hours and I was ready to collapse afterwards. I made 10 dollars an hour extra, after the first hour. It was NOT WORTH IT, that's for sure.

I think your thinking Conway Freight ....they will work the docks ...ALot ( but at $19.50+ hour sounds ok to me)
I've been with Conway Truckload 19 months ...NEVER touched a piece of freight ... Yeah there are a few tire loads out there but most of those are drop n hooks ..probably 1% of any tire loads are driver unload
