That's good helpful information, people like to talk up a big game but seem to run and hide when it's time to show the truth

Maybe he doesn’t wanna give out his information as to what his pay is besides what his pay is it’s almost certain to be different from somebody else’s… It all depends on how you wanna run and what you’re doing in whether , long haul or regional, etc..

Tanker_82, Speedy356 and Redtwin Thank this.

No excuses, you want to flex nuts then pull down your pants . He goes and starts this big blog about Indian river yet won't say what he makes ? Then it must not be much it's not like anybody knows him we literally just want to see NUMBERS. Not just one driver but as many as we can. Really it would be nice if companies had audits that would show averages of drivers that could be publicly accessible. It would cut out the transparency issue with pay.

Do they have anything that lets drivers keep track of their miles? I know some companies will tally it up but then some just put it on a paystub . I always try to keep track of mine .

It probably averages out to 2 per week. I can go weeks and get none, then one week get 4 or 5. We have lost quite a few customers in Canada. About 3 in Ontario and 4 or 5 in Quebec.

In my opinion, that is the cause of the drop in loads/miles, not seasonal factors.

He has given a lot of information about how he runs, usual lanes and ways to be successful at the company etc. Perfectly reasonable that he would not want to share personal information.

Me posting my gross should in no way reflect on anyone else at IRT and if it will cause friction or any issues, I will gladly delete the post and refrain from answering any further questions regarding my pay.

As far as the company posting driver earnings, it varies so widely that it would be of no use to anyone. I personally know of drivers that are happy to run one load per week. My impression is that they want a truck to live in and have no interest in making more money than they need to cover food and basic expenses. One such driver revealed to me that me makes about $4-500 per week. Anyone interested in working here, seeing that drivers pay and not knowing the full story behind it would run a mile the other way.

No. I was just taught that certain things in life are personal, and that it’s not really appropriate to discuss those things, especially in a public setting. It’s similar to asking someone how much money is in their bank or retirement account, etc.

What I make is my business. IRT is happy to tell prospective recruits or the public in general what the CPM rate is at any given time, along with the other incentives and pay. As a driver, I’ve given everyone an idea of what type of miles are possible on a weekly basis based on my years at the company. If you’re curious what type of money you can earn while working here, you can simply multiply the CPM that recruiting tells you by the average miles myself and other forum members have posted. What I personally earn or have earned isn’t really anyone else’s business unless I choose to disclose that. I would expect a similar answer if I walked into a bank, a dispatching office, etc. and asked them what they’ve personally grossed this year.

2500-3000 miles per week (when not on home time, etc) is a good average. I hope that answers your question. I didn’t mean to offend you by being reserved about disclosing my personal finances on a public Internet forum, where, like you said, we’re all strangers for the most part.

    Hope it helps.

Don't worry about causing friction you did a good thing. I'm sure if you were starting over and were new to IRT you would have liked to see as many accurate numbers as you could. This is trucking pay is supposed to be transparent. This isn't an office job were doug makes 25$ an hour and jane makes 19$ an hour doing the same job but the boss doesn't want to pay them the same amount and if they discuss pay they will be fired.
