Not that I don't believe you but where exactly in Indy is this left lane exit?I know Maryland has mostly left exits. What I do is start getting over long before the exit and stay in the legal lane till you see the exit and start putting on the blinker so the ppl know you wanna get over and then leave your left blinker on so the officer knows you're taking that exit.

Figures in Indy/Marion. Those cops are ruthless. Got me in my pickup on cruise after speed went from 70 to 55. Wrote me for 15 over, #######. I was doing 71 on cruise. Knew I wouldn't contest since I was out of town.

The ticket has nothing to do with his CSA score. Just a fine and a ding to his MVR. The only thing that goes against a drivers CSA score is demerits from a roadside inspection.

To the OP, if he doesn't want the moving violation on his record he will need to hire a lawyer and have it reduced to a non-moving violation. I encourage him to find a lawyer in the area where the court is.

My bad, you are correct... but with every incident with state troopers in Indiana I've had, it did include the inspection with reason for stop and thus CSA points
392.2LV Lane Restriction violation Misc Violations 3points

Ya, they told him it was just a citation and no points. We're new to this whole thing and I like that I can get on here and ask questions. The more knowledge about these things, the better.

If IDOT is pulling him over for improper lane usage they are going to do at the bare minimum a level 3 roadside inspection. Improper lane usage is a CSA violation.

Seems like the OP meant he was written up under CSA but wasn't written an actual citation. If he only received a roadside inspection and issued CSA points no lawyer is needed.

Was the ticket from state police or local police?
