Oh you are quite wrong. DSW does stand for Digby Southwest.... was started in the ninties as sort of a coopertive thing between Navajo Shippers and HDS- most drivers ran on the cann fleet ( such as myself). Think is was 97 when Don Digby sold the cann fleet lock, stock, and barrel. We had three options, goto Navajo, goto Swift or Stay with Dougie. I stayed with Dougie and a week later he leased all of us unto Swift- been there ever since. I left about six months later and went back to KLLM- had enough of the Swift way and training( did not want to train but got wrapped up in it regardless). Went back to Navajo in 2000- still here.

My last spy who left a few years ago told me that DSW these days is nothing but out sourced student training for Swift. And I don't doubt it. You go there, you will operate under Swift's way of doing things.... meaning you will be micro-managed to the inth degree. Be prepared.

I started out with the green Digby in 1995 outside Nashville in LaVergne, TN behind the TA. My understanding was they were brothers and they each had their own company, one being Navajo. That's why they have the same truck striping with different colors. I think it was Celadon that bought out the green Digby like you said around 1997? DSW been around since 1987. I'm not sure where they fit in. Their SMS snapshot says their current DOT operational status is Not Authorized. Both the DSW and Navajo websites are down. That's wierd.

I don't understand how or why a 170 truck fleet would lease with Swift? Doesn't even make sense. An O/O driving his own truck will barely make anything at Swift. Now how the hell are you going to make any if you have to pay a driver on top of that?
