    Hello Professionals!

I have a question about insurance for new O/O, I have my CDL for like 5 years now, but I have a brother and he got his license about 13-14 months ago.

And oh yes (oh no), he lives in California, so probably the worst state for insurance but he is going to cover his part of the payment so I'm okay with that. As I discovered Progressive is not gonna work with Cali guy with less than 2 years of experience.

We are 100% going to work together, what is the best insurance company we can choose to get coverage?

Thank you very much in advance!

Where will the company be based at? I think the home state matters more than where one of the drivers lives.

Why would you base a new company in a state that isn’t very business friendly? Seems like it would be easier to get started elsewhere and you’d have more insurance options.

I was thinking to start my business by my own, but my brother have much better financials so we'll start it together but as long as he is the main "money" guy we'll probably have most of paperwork in his state

Working with family always goes great. And if you are gonna be a business I think learning business 101 is gonna be an issue with that answer. Good luck!

Understand it, and yes you're right. The only thing we already have one established business 60/40 with him and its working for last 9 years. But again, I understand the point

Get quotes and let the quotes make the decision. Or just pay whatever it is and move on and hopefully you have good paying freight.
